Will your next smartphone have a 3-D screen and cameras?
Consumer electronics shows in 2011 feature 3-D phones.
3D Cell Phone technology has become a reality in 2011 with the release of new phone models from LG, HTC, and Optimus. Several consumer electronics shows have featured 3-D cellphones and smartphones that can even take and send 3-D pictures. Similar to the Nintendo 3Ds, these phones also have augmented reality games that turn everyday objects into part of a 3-D world. Like the 3Ds from Nintendo, 3D smartphones are not recommended for use by the under 7 crowd, who can end up with visual problems if they overuse the devices. Luckily, there is a feature for turning off the 3D effect if you or a small child wants to play a three dimensional game or watch a movie (if you can do this yet) on such a device.
Notes and Special Information
Special note:Becaue 3-D smartphone technology is still officially in its infancy, there could be a number of display and screen issues related to the technology, and you can almost be certain that processing 3D video on a small phone is going to drain your battery life in a jiffy!
